Subcontractor Agreement & Terms of Engagement

The agreement every contractor signs before they can be approved to receive MCHS job offers.

Version 1.0 · Last updated 9 October 2026

1. Parties

This agreement is between M.Campbell's Handyman Services ("MCHS", "we", "us"), a UK sole trader providing property maintenance and reactive repairs through vetted self-employed subcontractors, and you, the contractor named in the signature record ("you").

2. Independent status

You are an independent, self-employed business. Nothing in this agreement makes you an employee, worker, agent or partner of MCHS.

There is no obligation on MCHS to offer work and no obligation on you to accept it. You choose which job offers you accept and may decline any offer without giving a reason.

You decide how the agreed work is carried out, provide your own tools, transport and equipment, and are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. You may work for other businesses.

3. Accepting a job

Each job offer shows the scope, general area, appointment window and your fixed take-home pay. When you accept, a separate contract for that job forms on those terms.

Agreed prices cannot be changed by you. If the scope changes on site you must request approval through the app before carrying out any extra work. Unapproved extra work will not be paid.

4. Payment

Earnings for completed, approved jobs are paid weekly on Mondays by bank transfer through our payment provider Stripe, covering the previous full UK calendar week (one week in hand).

We may withhold payment for a job only where you did not attend, or where defective work is not put right after you were given a fair chance to do so. We will always tell you why.

5. Compliance & insurance

You must hold and keep in date: photo ID and the right to work in the UK; public liability insurance of at least £1,000,000, or any higher level a particular job or client requires (which MCHS will tell you before you accept); and any certificate or registration the law requires for the work you accept (for example Gas Safe for gas work).

You must only accept work you are competent and, where required, legally registered to carry out. If any document expires or is withdrawn, you will automatically stop receiving offers until a valid replacement is verified.

You confirm that every document you upload is genuine, current and belongs to you. Uploading false or altered documents ends this agreement immediately and may be reported to the relevant authority.

6. Health, safety & conduct

You are responsible for working safely, following current UK health and safety law, assessing risk on every job, using suitable PPE and following any site rules, RAMS or inductions supplied.

Report any accident, near miss, damage or safeguarding concern to MCHS through the app straight away. Behave courteously and professionally at all times; zero tolerance applies to abuse, discrimination or working under the influence.

7. Quality & callbacks

Work must be completed to a good trade standard. If MCHS receives a valid complaint about your workmanship, you agree to return and put it right at no extra charge within a reasonable time.

8. Customer data & confidentiality

Customer names, addresses, access codes and keys are given only to carry out the job. You must not copy, keep, share or use them for any other purpose, and must delete any notes once the job is complete.

All contact with customers about MCHS jobs goes through the MCHS app and office. You must not ask customers for payment or give them your own contact details for MCHS work.

9. Non-solicitation

For 12 months after your last MCHS job you must not directly approach any customer or commercial client you were introduced to through MCHS in order to offer them the same type of services.

10. Ending the agreement

Either party may end this agreement at any time by notice in the app or by email. Jobs already accepted should be completed or handed back with reasonable notice. Sections 7, 8 and 9 continue after it ends.

11. Law

This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.
